here are a number of ways to process a vertical dimension (VD) increase.  How much to open a VD can be a perplexing decision.  This video will provide a systematic method for opening the VD.  I realize there a number of philosophies and methods for finding and how much to open the VD.  I will share how I use the Shimbashi measurement.  The template for digital scanning a bite relationship provided in this video can be used for a deprogrammer and leaf gauge application as well.

The first step in comprehensive care planning is understanding the patient.  When projecting an occlusal shift with restorative treatment, one should consider occlusal wear & tear factors, neural sensitivity, and jaw skeletal balance.  This video will review my patient comprehensive diagnostic overview.

Over the years of practice, I have used many oral appliances for retention, grinding issues, TMD diagnosis and relief, and setting up a clients' case for vertical dimension increase.  This video is about my favored removable appliance when the treatment aim is to increase the restorative vertical dimension.  This appliance is generated with the MC XL or Primemill milling. It has been one of the most streamlined appliances I have used due to the Primescan digital bite registration accuracy.

Through the years, I have found a method of questioning to determine if a patient will be challenging.  This video will review the questions to be asked when setting up a patient for success in the relationship with the office.  This becomes particularly important for comprehensive dental care.

At last, I will be posting videos over the next few months on my comprehensive workflow using the digital platform (Primescan) for each step of the journey.  This video is an overview of what is to come.  You will receive new video notices when videos are posted.  All the best in this journey.

What is the material of choice in our CAD/CAM theater when we have minimal clearance in a second molar zone?  Historically, the short clinical tooth has been the most challenging to restore in my 30 plus career.  We now have robust materials and precise milling options to deal with this clinical dilemma.

Now that the CAD/CAM office has a growing selection of zirconia options such as 3M, Katana STML, ZirCAD Multi, and the soon-to-be-released zirconias, we have both strengths and aesthetic choices for our clinical theater. This video is an introduction to the zirconia channel.

With the plethora of aesthetic zirconia materials, we are now capable of moving zirconia to the smile zone when it needs function and esthetics.  This video tutorial is a case review about material choice and CEREC software workflow for an anterior bridge.  In addition to designing each individual tooth within the bridge, the software presents a pontic baseline tool and connector design metrics to optimize the aesthetic and engineering design needs.

Occlusal Offset will impact material thickness milled and occlusal calibration.  This video will discuss how to arrive at an Occlusal Offset that is properly calibrated for your CEREC system and assure proper occlusal material thickness and occlusal contact firmness. Though this video is illustrated in CEREC Software version 4.65, the principles are the same for the current 5... version software.

This video is my workaround technique for creating an implant-supported bridge using the CEREC software.  In the future, hopefully, Dentsply Sirona will provide more creative workflows in the chairside software for making implant bridges.
