The technique I use takes about two and one-half minutes for upper and lower arches and it does not gag the sensitive patient. For two years now, we have taken Onmicam impressions for study model and appliance impressions in the Klim office.  This video will clearly document the isolation approach and Omnican scanning flow to gain a predictable impression result.  And by the way, using the technique proposed in this video provides a predictable upper and lower arch mount with just the buccal scan quadrant from one side.  This approach is so much more effective than using the Ortho Software, at least at this point in time.

Choosing the right e.max block shade for e.max ceramic restorations can be uncertain.  Well, Ivoclar has solved this dilemma by introducing the IPS e.max Navigation App.  I have found the App recommended ceramic shade color to be right on.  I have modified one measurement though.  Choose ceramic thickness at the incisal or cusp location of the preparation. Finally found a need for the Adjust Morphology feature and create a 3rd premolar rather than molar.  This feature is handy when there is not enough room for a molar morphological design due to mesial drift of distal tooth, a molar in this case, into the mesial edentulous zone.   This video tutorial will also be a unique demonstration for designing two side-by-side implants.  In this case Implant Direct Inactive 3.7 and 4.3 implants where placed using the "crown-down" technique and placed with a guide.  Virtually planned and guided implant placement can take a difficult implant and restorative situation and provide a very

Are we able to machine thin feather margins with CEREC without chipping?  Oh yes, we can!  In fact, I am going to make a quality statement.  We can mill a "pressable"  margin with the MC XL using the EF bur system. This video will review the clinical criteria for applying a thin margin to optimize the aesthetic results. View Video

It is so important to completely listen to our patients when they talk.  This video case review documents how the patient was right and I was wrong after 30 years.  Thanks to chairside CAD/CAM and multi-Empress, I was finally able to get it right. IPS Ivocolor is a universal stains and glaze assortment for the individualized staining and characterization of ceramic materials. The range of products has been coordinated with the layering, press and CAD ceramics from Ivoclar Vivadent and the zirconium oxides from Wieland Dental and can be used regardless of the CTE of the ceramic. Due to the optimized sinter temperature of the newly developed glass, optimum esthetic results can be achieved irrespective of the ceramic substrate.

The newly developed composition of the pastes was optimized with regard to the application behaviour and the firing results. The gel-type structure of

Setting and monitoring goals is a major part of leadership.  The hardest part of leadership for me in the last 30 years has been setting and maintaining boundaries.  As a kid and clear into my early practice, setting boundaries was a negative experience for me.  Now that I have practiced over 30 years, I know from experience with patients, team members, friends, kids, and spouse, that boundaries are what provide an atmosphere for security, safety, and growth.  This video is my introduction for boundaries.  After viewing the video, please provide below in the comments what you think the number one thing is when setting boundaries.

With all the new zirconia brands entering the market, it will be imperative to know the brand and particular strength metrics.  Prep design and reduction indications will be all over the board based on the zirconia translucency and flexural strength.  For the more conservatively prepared restoration, the zirconia used will need a flexural strength greater than 1000 MPa.  This video will address  the prepping metrics and protocols for the high strength zirconia brands.

I am often asked the question, why is there sensitivity after e.max restorations are placed. Even when using a good adhesive primer.  Watch the video and find my perspective.  In general, the adhesive systems in our current market portfolio perform very well and have significantly diminished post cementation sensitivity.  So why may we occasionally observe this event in our restorative clinical theaters.  For Bluecam and Omnicam users, it comes down to over drying and desiccating the dentin prior to imaging.  In this video, I will review some pointers in getting around the imaging issue.  I do agree, the dryer the image field, the better
