I am reaching more and more for Zirconia restorations for first and second molars when full coverage is indicated. With the current high strength zirconia, they tend to be opaque and often come into the room first!  Since I have been color infiltrating in the green state, this simple efficient step has significantly improved the blend for the final finished restoration. This video will demonstrate my single zirconia restoration infiltration technique using ZirCAD LT Colouring Liquids.

When I need a high-strength zirconia restoration or bridge for the shadows of the mouth, I often reach for ZirCAD LT by Ivoclar.  Avoiding visual tension is the secret for making high strength zirconia restorations work in the shadows.  ZirCAD LT Colouring liquids are my secret.  I using them on colored blocks to create a multi-effect and tone down the value in the cusp zones.  This videos will show you how to set up the ZirCAD LT Colouring Liquid Kit.

Often when working with infiltrated zirconia restorations, polishing is enough for the final finish. There are occasional clinical circumstances that may require stain and glaze to achieve a harmonious blend, particularly when using a high strength zirconia such as ZirCAD LT which is more of an opaque material.  This video will provide the workflow for using Ivocolor stain and glaze.

This tutorial will demonstrate my step-by-step glaze and stain technique customizing the solid e.max abutment/crown.  My current favored stain and glaze system is Ivocolor.  It is a universal stain and glaze system "one on all" and works well on micro felspathic, lucite, disilicate, and zirconia surfaces.  Ivocolor is a very forgiving system, basically no bubbling.  It is very predictable, what you see with stain color harmony in the application state will be what is seen in the post-firing condition.

Solid abutment/crown shaping is not much different than shaping an e.max traditional restoration.  This tutorial will demonstrate Dr. Klim's shaping and polishing sequence using his Meisinger Lab Kit JK03.

Finishing zirconia when it comes out of the milling unit is referred to as zirconia in the green state.  There are a few steps that can be taken to really improve the surface quality of the green zirconia, and once sintered will save finishing time.

This case review will emphasize the CEREC software flow for an anterior cantilever bridge. There are times a cantilever anterior bridge works out the best for the case.  This is one of those case reviews.  In fact, zirconia was required due to a more conservative preparation needed on the abutment canine. Choosing the right e.max block shade for e.max ceramic restorations can be uncertain.  Well, Ivoclar has solved this dilemma by introducing the IPS e.max Navigation App.  I have found the App recommended ceramic shade color to be right on.  I have modified one measurement though.  Choose ceramic thickness at the incisal or cusp location of the preparation.
