Those who are in the in-office CAD/CAM service with CEREC appreciate the control of self-reliance in our clinical treatment workflows.  I, for one, am so appreciative of my CEREC journey over the last 20 years and hope to see many more years with this clinical fulfillment.  This video describes my workflow for fabricating dental splints and orthotics that are a significant part of my patient's occlusal and comfort management. #sprintray #dentalsplints #printingsplints

Yes, my MC XL saved my day several weeks ago.  I love the conservative restoration for posterior and anterior veneers.  I have used CEREC for two decades, and this system and upgrades have provided a fulfilling 20 years of practice.  As you may have observed, I am branching out to other mill systems and software, using the Primescan for imaging.  There are limitations to getting around the 4-axis mill for conservative restorations.  One advantage of the MC XL over the Primemill is the left step bur 12.  The diameter is the smallest diameter we have at about 0.85 mm for Fine Mill and Extra Fine Mill.  I will go through this advantage inRead more

I am making a series of instructional videos for anterior zirconia applications, zirconia options, and the finishing process.  Zirconia aesthetics options and support liquid ceramics provide a new look for using anterior zirconia aesthetic restorations.

Below are the firing Parameters for the Programat CS6 for Ivocolor.  Two drying times can be worked with. The Glaze dry time cycle is 14:10 minutes. Using the Cryst drying cycle will reduce the overall cycle time to 11:20 minutes.  I have not observed any bubbling when using the faster cycle.  Experiment and see what works best for your results.

Below are the firing Parameters for the Programat CS6 for MiYO Esthetic.  Two drying times can be worked with.  The Glaze dry time cycle is 15:00 minutes.  Using the Cryst drying cycle will reduce the overall cycle time to 12:10 minutes.  I have not observed any bubbling when using the faster cycle.  Jensen recommends the 15-minute cycle.  Experiment and see what works best for your results.

This last year has been a good year for chairside CAD/CAM.  The Primemill has come to its own with mill quality for both ceramics and zirconia.  The Extra Fine Mill for ceramics provides superior fit and margins, including e.max.  The Primemill is seamless for zirconia quality mills with newer, high-strength, and aesthetic zirconias available.  It has been a good year!

This was an excellent interview with Dr. Steve Shiffenhaus on his review of treating dentin for maximizing bond strength and avoiding post-treatment sensitivity.  This video clip is one of the highlights of the full interview.  The full video interview can be viewed at the following link.  Full Dr. Shiffenhaus inteverview.

A new part of this website is a Q&A response to questions through the message center and social media, which will benefit others in the dental theater and CEREC applications. This Q & A addresses selecting e.max shade and translucency for posterior onlays and the best milling strategy for milling onlays with the MC XL.  The brands that I use for posterior milled composites is Tetric CAD and Cerasmart.

My number one factor in avoiding post-treatment sensitivity following the delivery of indirect restorations is the management of force dynamics in the occlusal morphological design.  This is one reason I like the virtual digital design to control occlusal contact placement.  This video's occlusal design concept uses Primescan and the latest CEREC software.  These principles apply to Exocad and 3 Shape software, and I am also branching into these virtual design softwares.

The following question came into the messaging center.  "I have a case coming
up which has posterior erosion with passive eruption. Wondering what the best
treatment flow is for this and if there is a course in posterior rehab with
onlays?  Thanks!"
