This video is the introduction to the James Klim DDS CEREC Meisinger Lab Kit (JK03). The combo of shaping diamonds and wheels and diamond polishers is designed for efficient ceramic finishing. I use this kit to finish my CAD/CAM restorations in my clinical dental theater and hands-on teaching classes at the CADStar CEREC Training Center in Santa Rosa, California. Patterson Order number for the JK03 is #466-9990

Aesthetic zirconia workflow question that arrived at the Klim Institute Message Center:
"Interested in your intrinsic staining technique. Can this also be used on the Katana blocks? I want to mill, intrinsically stain my zirconia restorations, sinter, polish, and then the seat. Do you offer any hands-on courses, or which online videos do you recommend I watch? Also, can you provide a materials list so I can get the supplies to start?"
James Klim Response:
Yes, I use infiltration on Katana and the ZirCAD Multi to enhance intrinsic cervical coloration when needed. I use ZirCAD LTRead more

My primary goal for this series is to provide a systematic pathway to ceramic selection. The closer the treatment is to the midline, the more critical our ceramic selection becomes. With all-ceramic dentistry, there is more than color. Other factors that will impact our ceramic selection are restoration thickness, the color of the preparation, material translucency, cement/spacerRead more

Katana has become my favored zirconia brand when the clinical circumstances allow adequate occlusal reduction. The sintering time in the Dentsply Sirona SpeedFire furnace is in the 18-minute range. This is an incredible fact! A significant advantage of a multi zirconia application is the beautiful gradient is already in the pre-milled block. All we do is choose the shade (1-2 shades darker than target shade}, mill, and polish after sintering. This video will demonstrate the practical finishing steps for Katana STML using the Klim Institute Meisinger Zirconia Lab Kit JK04
